Sport For Good Atlanta

Sport for Good Atlanta is a long-term, collaborative approach to strengthening Atlanta communities through the power of sport. Launched in July 2017, Laureus USA has funded over 20 organizations providing free sport and life skills programming to youth in throughout Atlanta, including English Avenue, Vine City, and Washington Park neighborhoods. We also formed a community-wide coalition of local stakeholders from non-profit organizations, government, businesses, and educational agencies that work together to harness the power of sport to address challenges that local communities face, while also providing wrap around services, professional development and capacity building opportunities for non-profit leaders and their staff throughout the Metro Atlanta area.

Sport for Good Atlanta weaves three strategies into a localized place-based initiative: 1) making grants to non-profit sports-based youth development (SBYD) organizations; 2) convening and collective action through the membership of Sport for Good Atlanta; and 3) monitoring, evaluation and research that provides  evidence of sports unique position to address issues in and around under resourced communities.
