Laureus USA and Richemont Inspire the Next Generation with Career Exploration Days

12, August, 2025.

This summer, Laureus USA partnered with Richemont and two of its Maisons, Chloé and Cartier, to host a series of Career Exploration Days, giving youth from five Laureus-supported programs a first-hand look at careers in fashion, innovation, and sustainability.

Young people from STEM From Dance, Bronx Lacrosse, New Heights Youth, Beyond the Ball, and Bridge Lacrosse participated in immersive experiences that went far beyond boutique tours. They connected directly with professionals across Richemont’s ecosystem and heard powerful stories from Laureus alumni who are now interns and employees across Richemont and its Maisons.

At Chloé’s Madison Ave boutique, students from STEM From Dance explored the latest collection, previewed the unreleased reissue of an iconic bag, and received curated gift bags filled with fragrance samples.

The group then dove into professional development sessions with:

  • Jose Prudencio, Head of Sustainability at Richemont Americas
  • Monica Villaquiran, VP of Client Experience and Innovation at Richemont

The day closed with a panel discussion featuring Chloé leaders Kim Sillman (Retail), Cherie Tjhan (Operations), and Arnaud Cauchois (Communications), who shared personal insights, Maison history, and career advice.

A standout moment? The girls met former STEM From Dance participants now interning at Richemont, offering a powerful example of what long-term investment and opportunity can look like.

At the Cartier 5th Avenue flagship boutique, students from Bronx Lacrosse and New Heights Youth received an intimate look at Cartier’s legacy of craftsmanship, luxury, and excellence.

After touring the boutique and learning about the brand’s history, the group engaged with:

  • Jose Prudencio on the evolving role of sustainability in luxury
  • Kristin Irwin on navigating career opportunities within Human Resources
  • Fatima Aziz, Chief HR Officer at Cartier, who shared her professional journey and offered tangible advice for students entering the workforce

A particularly moving moment came when four Laureus USA alumni, now current interns at Richemont Maisons, joined the group to share their journeys, from program participants to professionals. Their stories illustrated how exposure and mentorship through Laureus can lead to real, sustainable career pathways.

Students from Bridge Lacrosse and Beyond the Ball spent the day exploring Richemont’s internal operations in Dallas, a behind-the-scenes look at the world powering some of the most respected luxury brands.

They toured:

  • The Client Relations Center
  • The Technical Center
  • The Distribution Center
  • The Richemont Watch School, where students gained insight into fine watchmaking and precision engineering

The experience was highly interactive. Students participated in a hands-on fine motor skills challenge, an actual assessment tool used by the Watch School to evaluate aspiring watchmakers. This challenge gave them a tangible feel for the type of focus and craftsmanship required in the industry.

At each site, students heard from Richemont professionals who shared their roles, journeys, and advice, helping participants connect their interests to possible futures in operations, tech, customer experience, and beyond.

The Impact:

Across all events, the results spoke volumes. Students left more informed, inspired, and equipped to pursue their goals:

  • 92% discovered a career path they hadn’t previously considered
  • 88% felt more confident about exploring their career goals
  • 80% said they learned something they could apply to a future job search
  • 80% said they now plan to think more intentionally about their career journey

These Career Exploration Days were not just one-time experiences. They were stepping stones toward a future where every young person, no matter their background, has access to opportunity.

From Exposure to Opportunity:

Thanks to this collaboration, students didn’t just hear about career paths, they saw themselves reflected in the professionals who spoke to them, especially Laureus program alumni now thriving as Richemont interns and employees.

These moments exemplify the power of early exposure, deep partnership, and sustained support: the foundation of Laureus USA’s mission to advance equity through sport and beyond. Special thank you to our friends at Richemont who continue to make this program possible.
