Laureus USA Board of Directors Appoint Ben Schornack as Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Laureus USA is pleased to announce the appointment of Ben Schornack as Executive Director of Laureus Sport for Good Foundation USA. This appointment reflects Ben’s leadership, impact, and longstanding commitment to the Laureus mission.Ben joined the Laureus family in 2017 as Program Officer and has since played a key role in expanding the organization’s reach and impact, including being promoted to his most recent role as Director of Sport for Good Chicago in May 2022. In this capacity, he oversaw strategy, fundraising, and operations for Laureus’ Chicago initiatives, and established signature programs that helped strengthen community partnerships and unlock more than $15M in grant support for sports-based youth development programs in Illinois.

Selected as one of 206 Global Obama Leaders in 2024, Ben brings diverse experience as a PE teacher, coach, program officer, and director, all while building community-driven initiatives and advancing social change through sports. Throughout his tenure at Laureus, he has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to engage partners, secure critical funding, and develop programs that deliver meaningful impact for young people and their communities.
Ben holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies from Central College. He is also a member of the inaugural Change Collective, a leadership program that connects and supports emerging civic leaders in Chicago, Detroit, and Jackson.
As Laureus USA continues to build on its momentum and expand its impact, the Board is confident that Ben’s experience, relationships, and commitment to the Sport for Good movement will help guide the organization through its next chapter.
