Title: How Did SBYD Programs Support Youth Through COVID?
Summary:
While most programs struggled to keep up with “promoting peer bonds,” given COVID social distancing protocols, in-person constraints and other challenges, sports-based youth development (SBYD) programs were somehow able to meet the demands of young people who desperately needed their peers to cope through the pandemic. Our partners at Hello Insight will share these timely findings building on their field-building report promoting the benefits of SBYD. In the spirit of “promoting peer bonds,” Hello Insight has identified SBYD programs that demonstrated high “promoting peer bonds” scores from their young people and will facilitate a panel discussion between those organizational leaders and the attendees.
This Virtual Training Camp session is open to coaches, program staff, parents or any individual interested in helping foster life skill development for young people through sport.
